(Senior) Software Developer sought for continued development of CityGRID:

Met Geo Info is the home of CityGRID, the innovative management software for 3D digital city models. CityGRID, currently in release 2009, has an ambitious development plan and we are looking to expand our programming team with a highly motivated (Senior) Software Developer to take a central role in this exciting process.

Your role will be playing a part in all development phases of the software (design, implementation and testing), enhancing existing code and developing new features with responsibility for specific components of the software product range. Your will be based for the first year in our Vienna office; thereafter the potential exists to be located, by mutual consent, in any of our offices. Met Geo Info has offices in Leeds (UK) and Vienna (Austria).

We are seeking developers with the following skills:

  • A minimum of 5 years professional experience with C++
  • Developed knowledge of
  • OO development techniques
  • .net language(s)
  • Windows OS

The position is full-time, and we are interested in individuals who are looking for a long term role. You will be a team-player and have strong communication skills in English. Being a German speaker would also be a distinct advantage.

Preferably you will have a degree or comparable experience in a computer science or a related field and experience with:

  • Microsoft Visual Studio and Visual SourceSafe
  • Database programming (Oracle, SQL Server) and SQL
  • 3D visualization
  • Spatial data (geo-referenced data)
  • Autodesk MAX and AutoCAD, Bentley Microstation, ESRI ArcGIS, Safe Software FME
